Applicator Sponge (Black)

If you like to use the 'wipe on' method for applying varnish or Ultra Grip then these dense sponge pads are perfect for you! Made with an ergonomic grip for your hands, these sponges provide extra stability and ease during application.

Tip: Pour your Tough Coat or Polyvine varnish onto a tray or disposable paper plate.  Slightly dampen your sponge with water and dip it evenly into the product. Start at one end of your project and do a solid swipe in one direction. Repeat this process over your entire piece.  Ensuring you always wipe your sponge in one direction only. Do not wipe backwards over the wet surface. Wiping backwards can cause air bubbles to form in the varnish. To ensure a smooth, streak free application wipe in one direction.

Leave to dry for 2-4 hours (depending on conditions) and repeat the process.

When using these sponges, you can keep them in an air tight sealed bag or wrap in cling film to prevent them from drying out between coats.

When finished, clean thoroughly with hot soapy.  Rinse well and let dry.  Keep your sponge for future projects.  You can reuse your sponge for approximately 3-5 times.
